Where is the Omega watch headquarters?
The Omega Headquarters are based in the heart of Switzerland’s watchmaking region, the city of Biel/Bienne. They’ve been based there since 1882 and Biel/Bienne is the home to a number of watchmaking companies such as Rolex and the Swatch Group.
The watchmaking routes of Biel/Bienne can be traced back to the 18th century where farmers were known for spending the winter months creating timepieces to supplement their income during the colder months.
Louis Brandt made the decision to create Omega, formerly ‘La Generale Watch Co.’ while in Biel/Bienne. Inspired by its proximity to suppliers, skilled workers and the ability to expand the business, Biel/Bienne became the home of Omega.
Omega now uses the area for their manufacturing processes where it combines cutting edge technology with traditional watchmaking.

Omega’s in house watchmaking
Unlike some other watch companies, Omega keeps their watch making in house rather than using third parties for certain parts or manufacturing. This allows them to:
- Have complete control over their manufacturing process.
- Ensure each process and product meets their standards.
- Invest in research and development that allows them to keep pushing the boundaries and pave the way to the future of watchmaking. As a result, Omega has a dedicated team of designers, engineers and watchmakers.
Omega’s in-house watchmaking has also allowed them to create exclusive materials, such as their proprietary alloys like Sedna Gold. This combines rose gold with stainless steel, with the aim of having a beautiful, yet durable material.
